Elise Carter, Music Therapist, MT-BC 

My Story

Elise Carter, MT-BC, maintains a private practice where she works with adults with physical and cognitive challenges,  palliative care and hospice patients.  Ms. Carter specializes in working with non-verbal patients. 

A board-certified music therapist, Ms Carter has experience in teaching children and adults, both with and without special needs, through piano, guitar and  flute lessons. She also provides music therapy to address specific client goals either in groups or individually. 

Ms Carter has worked with palliative care, acute psychiatric and hospice patients through Suncrest Hospice and at Mt Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in NYC.  She also provided environmental music for fragile patient populations in SICU and MICU settings at Beth Israel hospital.

Ms Carter works in the Allendale and West Milford areas of New Jersey either at the patient's home or in her own office/studio.
