What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals.
Music therapy for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities: Our music therapists specialize in therapy with adults and children with special needs, through both individual and group sessions. Our therapists teach flute, piano, voice, and guitar. We also use music therapy techniques to address other goals such as improve communication or improve speech.
Music therapy in palliative or hospice care: Our music therapists are specially trained to improve quality of life and address the needs of those who are experiencing the end of life or a hospitalization.
Music therapy in mental health: Music therapy interventions support those experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety or depression, those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, and many other mental health issues. Some interventions commonly used for both individual and group therapy, include drum circles, guided meditations and DBT techniques.

-
providing increased quality of life through joyful activities
-
providing increased cognitive stimulation through learning to play an instrument
-
providing enhanced quality of life
